Freakin Colored Contact Lenses

August 2nd, 2006

As humans, we only get five senses to begin with. One thing many of us dread is losing one of those senses. We practically need them, and rely on them to survive this sometimes harsh world. However, a common sense that tends to fade in many of us is our eyesight. Although this is simply a sad truth of being human, there are things we can do to correct the dilemma. Many people turn to an optometrist for a solution with eye glasses. These days it is even common to receive corrective surgery. This is a prime way to avoid glasses altogether and come out with 20/20 vision. While this method of eye correction is becoming more popular, some of us are just not ready to go under the knife. Luckily we have a third option called contact lenses. The cool thing about these are the variety. You can get a number of different colored contact lenses to try at your every whim.

Contact lenses have come a long way in recent years. Remember back when they started? Everyone was complaining about how uncomfortable they were, and how they kind of made it feel like something was always in your eye. Yeah, those are the old days. Now we enjoy soft and manageable, colored contact lenses. We simply love the ability to change our eye color whenever we please. If you have brown eyes, you’ve surely wanted blue ones before. Maybe you even have green eyes, and always wondered what it would be like to have violet. This is a possibility.

My wife began using colored contact lenses a while back, instead of glasses. Everyone seems to get sick of those frames weighing down their nose all day long. After seeing her with a new eye color, I was kind of jealous. That is a pretty sweet deal. Even today she enjoys switching her colored contact lenses on a regular basis. She claims that they’re much nicer than glasses since you don’t actually have to turn your head whenever you glance at something. Contacts are much simpler, and allow a more natural vision.

If you’re considering colored contact lenses, a good place to begin your browsing is online. The Internet will provide you with a load of information on contact lenses in general, and what you can expect to pay. This is one of your five senses we’re talking about here; take good care of it with quality, colored contact lenses.

Getting Laser Eye Surgery

July 27th, 2006

If you’re thinking about getting laser eye surgery, there are many websites you can check out for general information about the topic. However, medical procedures require the input of an actual doctor, so take everything you read with a grain of salt and get a professional opinion before making up your mind one way or the other. Before going in for my laser eye surgery, I checked the Internet to see what kinds of experiences other people have had.

I knew that their experiences wouldn’t have any bearing on my own, but I just wanted some reassurances. I learned that many athletes who depend on great vision in order to perform well at their sports have opted to get laser eye surgery. Of those athletes who have made public comments, most have said that choosing to have laser eye surgery was one of the best decisions they have ever made.
